As a Client Development Representative (Client Development Executive), you work with a group of Northstar client facilities to provide exceptional customer service, grow Northstar’s business footprint, and identify/implement landfill diversion, cost savings, and efficiency projects.
Major Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Client Development position is to manage a group of Northstar Recycling clients.
- Maximize profits and client retention rates
- Provide excellent customer service and identify/implement landfill diversion, cost-savings, and efficiency projects
- Maintain and build professional relationships with external site contacts based on trust and respect
- Serve as a point of escalation for urgent service issues
- Identify and implement creative solutions for waste and recycling programs, projects include cost-savings and diversion opportunities
- Manage your own workload and identify your own projects to hit Northstar performance objectives
- Analyze historic data to offer recommendations on waste program improvements
- Analysis to optimize service and surpass client expectations
- Strategically price commodities, provide trainings to clients on best recycling practices, and coordinate installation and removal of waste and recycling equipment
- Take bottom line responsibility identifying, managing, and implementing cost savings, gross profit, and landfill diversion project
- Conduct on-site and phone waste audits with manufacturing and Distribution Center (DC) sites
Northstar Recycling Client Development Representatives serve as the lead contact for a large number of clients. Key Criteria include:
- Bachelor’s Degree OR 2 years of professional experience in the waste and recycling industry
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Travel throughout North America 1 – 3 times per quarter as needed to complete on-site visits with our clients at their recycling plants
- Strong decision-making skills and high level of attention to detail

This position is available as a remote position or hybrid (remote/in-person) in our office locations in either East Longmeadow, MA or Little Falls, NY.
This position requires valid driver’s license and clean driving record as a condition of employment.
