Caladwich is seeking a Material Handler to perform Logistics Support Services and Supply Management Services in support of 3d MAW and subordinate units aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, CA. The Material Handler should be able to design, plan, execute, control, and monitor aviation logistics and supply chain activities with the objective of leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand, measuring performance and facilitating accountability in retail and intermediate inventory activities and units. 


Daily Hours of Operation are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays.


Core Responsibilities- SM Expertise in the following fields:

• Performs routine unloading, sorting and packing of materials in storage.

• Stocks and moves material in appropriate locations.

• Kits job orders and delivers to alternate location as directed.

• Performs inventory cycle counts and inventory counts.

• Prepares products for movement and performs routine quality checks of products.

• Manages (enters, accesses, reviews, download/upload) logistics data within GCSS – Marine Corps logistics Information Technology System

• Unloads and processes all inbound deliveries.

• Provides certified shipping service for all modes of transport.

• Sources carriers and negotiates shipping modes and rates.

• Assists in resolving transportation freight claims for damages and shortages of incoming and outgoing shipments.

• Handles supply inventory and tracking of accountable receipts and shipments with storage or additional handling requirements.


Requirements

Requirements for Candidate:

• The candidate should be able to interpret policies, manuals, and regulations related to inventory and supply management, in accordance with Naval Supply (NAVSUP) and Navy-Marine Corps (NAVMC) regulations.

• Knowledge of stock rotation, hazard alerts, and recalls ensuring that outdated or compromised supplies are removed from usage areas.

• Proficiency in using computers and Microsoft Office software programs, including Word and Excel, to manage supply inventory.

• Effective communication skills, including oral and written communication techniques and methods, are necessary.

• Must have knowledge and experience with safe handling, storage and distribution of supplies.


Preferred Candidates:

• Must be able to pass background investigations including a FBI fingerprint check and a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI) adjudication.

• 2+ years of Navy/Marine Corps Supply System experience (i.e., NALCOMIS, GCSS-MC and/or R-Supply)

• 3+ Years of Inventory experience

• 3+ Years of Warehouse experience

Salary Description
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
