Cypress Street Pint & Plate is located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. It is a throwback to when the drinks were always cold, the food was always hot, and the bar staff knew your name. With seventeen beers on tap, forty bottled selections, and a fully stocked selection of wine and spirits, Cypress has become a local favorite neighborhood haunt.
Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to our restaurant's recipes and standards. We need PM Shifts (with Late Night Availability)
Weekends are a Must!
Pay is based on Experience - $18 an hour
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Follows proper Dress Code and Servsafe/Health Department guidelines.
- Line Checks and Temperature Log structure followed.
- Follow all the recipes and build sheets every time.
- Prepare and cook food items according to our restaurant's recipes and standards
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure that food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented in an appealing manner
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Work with the kitchen team to ensure that all orders are completed on time
- Assist with inventory and ordering of supplies as needed
- Proven experience as a Line Cook
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products served.
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area, including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
- Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.
- Assists in food prep assignments and dishwashing during off-peak periods as needed.
- Opening and/or closing the kitchen properly and following the checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in opening and/or closing the kitchen.
- Helps maintain the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, prep, walk-ins, restrooms, dish areas, and outside areas through the daily/weekly/monthly cleaning lists.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or manager-on-duty.
