The Blasting Laborer performs a wide variety of manual tasks including placing products by drilled holes, shoveling stemming stone, carrying a wide variety of materials and tools, signaling equipment operators to facilitate alignment or adjustment of materials or equipment, operating small pieces of equipment or trucks, and any other task designated by the supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Communicates with the operator about the alignment or adjustment of materials or equipment by using hand signals.
• Uses hand held tools like shovels, buckets, tape measures, hammers, etc.
• Assists the Supervisor with setting up blast hole layout.
• When qualified, may operate a skid loader and/or backhoe.
• Helps to maintain a clean job site by picking up all tools and equipment to secure the job site each day.
• Responsible for daily transportation to and from the jobsite.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Previous labor experience preferred.
• Familiarization with safety policies and procedures.
• No formal education required.
