Under the direction of the VP of Advancement, the Advancement Manager leads the strategy and execution of annual fundraising efforts to strengthen donor acquisition, retention and philanthropic revenue that supports long-term organizational sustainability. The role manages the development of the donor pipeline, oversees integrated fundraising initiatives and ensures all efforts reflect Heartspring’s mission and core values. This position also plays a key role in fostering a culture of philanthropy across the organization.


As a Fund Development Manager, you will:

Strategic Fundraising Leadership:  

Set the direction of the annual fund by developing data-informed strategies that drive donor growth, engagement and giving performance. Establish goals, analyze trends, design donor segmentation and movement strategies, improve fundraising workflows and systems and align fundraising initiatives with organizational priorities and mission impact. Ensure that all annual fund efforts are strategically planned, continuously evaluated and optimized to support sustainable philanthropic revenue. (Excellence) 


Donor Engagement and Relationship Management:  

Manage and deepen relationships with annual donors and corporate partners to ensure consistent engagement, meaningful stewardship, and long-term loyalty. Develop personalized approaches to cultivating donor relationships, enhancing donor experience, strengthening mission connection, and supporting organizational leaders in growing philanthropic relationships. Ensure donors feel valued, informed and inspired to continue and increase their support. (Service)


Campaign Strategy & Philanthropic Program Oversight:  

Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of multi-channel annual giving campaigns and philanthropic programs. Set campaign direction, shaping compelling content that reflects organizational impact, pacing fundraising initiatives across they year, and integrating digital and traditional engagement strategies. Provide oversight of recognition programs, monthly giving initiatives, event-related philanthropy, and opportunities for grants or sponsorships that advance annual fund goals.  (Possibility)


Team Collaboration & Organizational Leadership:  

Support the advancement of developmental and organizational goals by fostering collaboration, accountability and shared purpose among team members. Contribute to a positive and productive team culture, partnering with staff across departments to ensure mission-aligned storytelling and supporting leadership in cultivating organization-wide understanding of philanthropy’s role. Ensure that fundraising efforts are well-coordinated, mission-driven and strengthened by cross-functional alignment. (Leadership)

Requirements

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree required.

· 4+ years of experience in front-line fundraising preferred.

· Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a related field (sales, marketing, community relations). 

· Demonstrated success building and leading philanthropic functions in an entrepreneurial, high-performing nonprofit organization    with experience in grant writing and sponsorship acquisition preferred.

· Experience with Raiser’s Edge or equivalent CRM system preferred. 

· Strong project management experience with measurable contributions to outcomes.

Work Environment:

  • Environment: Primarily indoor office environment, with rare exposure to outdoor settings
  • Safety Compliance: Adherence to safety protocols. Use of protective gear when required occasionally
  • Physical Interactions & Exposure Risks: Rare exposure to physical interactions from clients, including slapping, hitting, punching, kicking, head-butting, and biting. Potential exposure to infectious diseases, parasites, bodily fluids, and blood-borne      pathogens in a school and residential care setting.
