The Athletics Department at Elizabethtown College invites applications for a part-time Head Women's Flag Football Coach position.


The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership for and direct all aspects of the Elizabethtown College intercollegiate Women’s Flag Football program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Direct all aspects of the intercollegiate Women’s Flag Football program, recruitment and supervision of assistant coaches, practice and contest organization, team travel, budget management, scheduling, promotion of the program, and team fundraising.
  • Meet annual goals for student athlete recruitment and retention.
  • Effectively promote an inclusive, safe and welcoming environment for all student athletes and set expectations for diversity and inclusion in all team activities.
  • Support student athlete wellness initiatives in partnership with Student Wellness 
  • Conduct the women's flag football program in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to all college policies including, but not limited to, specific duties as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and Responsible Employee.
  • This position requires a valid driver’s license for business travel purposes (individual must have a US driver’s license for at least three years and also be qualified under College policy to transport students in college-owned and/or leased vehicles). CPR, AED and 1st Aid certification also is required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Director of Volleyball

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS   

  • Attend athletic department staff meetings
  • Conduct all responsibilities in a safe manner according to regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)

Other Skills, Abilities, and/or Training

  • Must have a coaching record or equivalent experience that demonstrates the ability to teach, motivate, and develop students
  • Must be knowledgeable of NCAA rules and be committed to the NCAA Division III philosophy of athletics
  • Good interpersonal skills and desire to be a team player
  • Excellent oral communication skills (i.e. ability to deal effectively with others, speak professionally on the phone, etc.)
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Ability to work weekends

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Occasionally required to remain seated in a normal position for long periods of time
  • Regularly required to walk about

  • Regularly required to reach up and out with hands and arms
  • Regularly required to talk and hear; verbally express information or instructions
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp objects, type, pick up objects, move objects, or hold objects

  • Regularly required to climb stairs and/or ladders
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry a distance of 10 feet
  • Occasionally required to push and/or pull up to 50 pounds a distance of 10 feet
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods of time
  • Capable of demonstrating skills related to the sport being coached


VISION REQUIREMENTS

To successfully perform this position, individuals must possess the following:

  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Depth perception and the ability to judge distances and spatial relationships
  • Adjustable focus


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job.  

The individual is regularly exposed to indoor conditions, outdoor weather and temperature extremes, and moderate noise level.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree is preferred; plus three to five years of coaching experience, preferably on the college level; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
