Title: Maintenance Technician 1

Reports to: Facilities Supervisor

Purpose: Responsible for general maintenance and providing a safe and clean work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advocates for the mission of the organization and upholds the agency's values.
  • Facilitate minor repairs and installations.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Complete work orders as assigned.
  • Timely completion of unit turnovers.
  • Property and landscape preservation including grass cutting, trash and snow removal.
  • Provide superior customer service

Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Technical or building trade education helpful.
  • One year maintenance experience.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, painting, plumbing, and carpentry required.
  • Well organized, able to prioritize own work.
  • Quick learner interested in expanding knowledge and experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team builder who inspires and motivates others to perform their best.
  • Can work effectively independently as well as a member of a team.
  • Commitment to Task-is tenacious, can achieve results in an environment when priorities change quickly.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, etc.
  • Ability to work in an environment in which the job is performed, such as working in hot, cold, dusty, etc. conditions.

Electrical Knowledge

  • Replace light bulbs
  • Smoke and CO detectors – testing
  • Emergency lighting (Batteries) testing
  • G.F.C.I. testing

Plumbing Knowledge

  • PVC
  • Replace faucets
  • Clear traps and drains
  • Repair leaks

Carpentry Knowledge

  • Repair windows
  • Repair doors
  • Repair flooring

Tools Knowledge

  • Skill saw
  • Drill
  • Hand tools
  • Ladders
