Build, Improve, and Lead Manufacturing from the Floor Up


SSF Production is seeking a motivated and hands-on Process Engineer to help shape how our products are made. This role is ideal for engineers who want real impact — working directly on the manufacturing floor while contributing to process optimization, automation, safety systems, capital projects, and new technology introductions.

 What You’ll Do Drive Safe & Compliant Operations

  • Work within a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), and safety investigations
  • Support risk mitigation, equipment modifications, and regulatory compliance
  • Partner with EHS to strengthen process safety culture

Support & Improve Manufacturing

  • Provide hands-on technical support to production
  • Troubleshoot process deviations, equipment issues, and quality concerns
  • Improve uptime, yield, and operational stability
  • Analyze data to drive measurable performance improvements

Lead Process & Technology Advancements

  • Support new product and technology introductions
  • Assist with capital equipment installations and commissioning
  • Work with Siemens PLC and HMI systems for troubleshooting and basic programming support
  • Collaborate with controls and automation contractors

Engineering Design & Documentation

  • Use Fusion360, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks to create and modify equipment layouts and process drawings
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, process standards, and training materials
  • Support quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements

 What We’re Looking For Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required

Experience

  • Entry-Level (0–3 years): Manufacturing, automation, or process engineering exposure (internships/co-ops welcome)
  • Experienced (3+ years): Manufacturing or process engineering experience preferred
  • Plastics processing or extrusion experience is a plus
  • Experience with Siemens PLC/HMI platforms preferred

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable in a hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion360)
  • Knowledge of Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Clear communicator across technical and non-technical teams
