The Association of Former Students engages and inspires the Aggie Network for Texas A&M University in perpetuating the Aggie Spirit. Through our Annual Fund, as well as other revenue streams, we provide scholarships, endowments, emergency student loans, and awards for faculty. Our newest colleague will join our Development team in advancing our mission through dedicated support that builds relationships with our donors through Gift Recognition services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Integrity and confidentiality.
- Accuracy.
- Customer Service.
- Support fundamental communication with donors. For example: Donation receipts, routine correspondence.
- Basic analysis of numerical data.
- Drafting communication for management review. For example: Annual letters to donors.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Understand how The Association of Former Students supports Texas A&M University.
ROUTINE DUTIES
- Point of contact for gift recognition activities.
- Stewardship liaison to event planning meetings.
- Plan, coordinate and execute donor stewardship events, working with development staff and Events department.
- Identify new ideas and opportunities to provide meaningful stewardship to all donors.
- Provide cross-functional support as-needed. Examples may include but are not limited to:
- o Attendance at Development events to meet and speak with donors.
- o Support of Gift Processing.
- Audit inventory of necessary supplies. For example, decals, year bars, luggage tags, stationery and envelopes and place orders.
- From time to time, review vendors for best price offerings.
- Use constituent database to pull reports into Excel for donor communication letters.
- Review Excel spreadsheets to check system data integrity, use Word to mail merge correspondence. For example: Donation receipts.
- Following quality control procedures for the following:
- o Auditing donor stewardship reports for accuracy.
- o Capturing inaccurate data and either correcting or communication to IS or management.
- o Manipulating data to support efficient processes (i.e. removing columns, reformatting, etc.)
- o Records Maintenance. For example: Maintaining files in designated locations and with appropriate naming conventions.
- o Assembly instructions for donor mailings.
- Working with Development team, to assemble envelopes and prepare for mailing.
- Recommend improvements to donor stewardship processes.
- Involvement with special projects on an as-needed basis.
- Provide on-the-job training to Student Assistant or new employees.
- Lead and supervise the Stewardship Student Assistant.
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies.
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
EMPLOYEES OF THE ASSOCIATION OF FORMER STUDENTS
- Participate in various Association-wide activities such as engagement and fundraising goals, internal event teams, task committees, attending gameday receptions, Distinguished Alumni Gala and other external events as required.
- Serve as an ambassador by meeting our Team Expectations, fostering relationships with students and other constituents of Texas A&M.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required: One year of general office experience. Good communication skills including good grammar. Intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Preferred: Non-profit experience.
PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work at a desk and use a computer, keyboard and monitor for significant portion of the workday. Lifting and carrying objects up to 10 pounds infrequently. EDUCATION
Required: High School diploma or GED.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
