Monroe Capital is seeking an Associate to join its Originations Group. This group is responsible for originating new investment/lending opportunities for the firm. Specifically, the Associate will be responsible for lead generation via a direct calling effort as well as through other business development activities. This individual will be focused on uncovering proprietary opportunities across all industry verticals.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Identify new investment opportunities primarily through a direct calling effort to middle-market company executives
- Work with VP and/or Managing Director to evaluate new investment opportunities
- Will require attending local networking events and some travel (less than 10%) as part of business development activities
- Assist in creation of new content for marketing initiatives (white papers, case studies, email campaigns, etc.)
- BA/BS degree required with concentration in Business or Finance preferred
- 2-4 years of professional experience
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Proven ability to sell over the phone and develop strong client relationships. Demonstrated success in gaining access to C-Level- Executives a plus
- Prior work experience in wealth management, corporate finance, commercial banking, private equity, and/or investment banking
- General understanding of capital markets and debt products
- A self-starter comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting: Frequently (approximately 70–80% of the workday) for computer work, phone communication, and administrative tasks.
- Standing and Walking: Occasionally (approximately 20–30% of the workday), including walking between Monroe offices or meeting rooms.
- Reaching/Bending: Occasionally required when organizing supplies or accessing shelves.
- Typing/Keyboard Use: Frequently required for daily computer and administrative tasks.
- Vision and Hearing: Adequate for reading reports, emails, spreadsheets, and verbal communication.
- Speaking: Frequent verbal communication with staff, vendors, and external partners.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range: $75,000-$100,000, plus performance-based bonus and comprehensive benefits package (including medical, dental, 401(k), and paid time off). Actual compensation will vary based on experience and qualifications. If hired, the employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
