Position Overview
Genesis Reference Laboratories is seeking a Part-Time Medical Technician – Molecular to support testing operations and assist with the development of our growing molecular department in Colorado. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to expanding molecular diagnostics capabilities, including PCR-based testing, while working in a collaborative clinical laboratory environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a fast-paced laboratory team.
Responsibilities
- Perform molecular diagnostic testing following established laboratory procedures
- Assist with method development and validation of molecular assays
- Perform instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Support development and updates to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Maintain quality control and regulatory documentation
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely test results
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
- Experience with molecular diagnostics, PCR, or related laboratory techniques preferred
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting
- Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
