Summary: The Quality Control Inspector performs assessment, documentation, and organization tasks to support the efficiency and effectiveness of their organization’s quality of outgoing materials. This role is tasked with conducting tests, analyzing measurements, and overseeing production processes to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual is expected to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The employee must work in a safe and professional manner following the necessary safety procedures. Work in a team environment with employees for the purpose of meeting safety, quality, production, and standards objectives.

  1. Ensure      Compliance to Food Safety requirements.
  2. Follow      Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  3. Adhere      to safety rules and procedures.
  4. Following      departmental rules and regulations including, but not limited to      telephones, two-way radios, quality equipment and security of the QC lab.
  5. Retrieve      and review the Product Specification Sheet for each run.
  6. Place      operator driven quality resources at each line. This includes control      charts, matching parts, spec sheet, etc.
  7. Awareness      and adherence to the visual attributes of product as described in the      General Thermoforming Standard.
  8. Perform      process inspection and data entry into the data collection system.
  9. Understanding      control charts.
  10. Use of      measuring instruments.
  11. Identifying      nonconforming product then communicating problems to production.
  12. Place suspected non-conforming product,      roll stock, on hold by moving to quarantine, identifying with hold tags,      completing hold form F013, and registering them on hold log. F-004
  13. Obtain      disposition for held/nonconforming product.
  14. Perform      cold storage, product retention and other functional testing.
  15. Thorough      and consistent communication between QC inspectors on other shifts. Attend      shift overlap meetings.
  16. Inspecting,      approving, and documenting 1st piece parts upon startup after      changeovers.
  17. Completing      and maintaining accurate QA paperwork. Document in-process inspections      including box checks.
  18. Review      production paperwork for compliance.
  19. Ensure      box labels are accurate.
  20. Follow      up on previous quality problems to prevent re-occurrence.
  21. Awareness      of customer complaints.
  22. Make      sure the correct raw material (rollstock) is being used as specified on      the Product Specification Sheet and engineering change notices.
  23. Spend a      minimum of 50% of the time on the production floor monitoring extrusion      lines, extrusion operators, paperwork and providing feedback to extrusion      leads and operators.
  24. Perform      sheet inspection for thickness, color, silicone concentration, etc.
  25. Takes      direction from Quality Director/Quality Supervisor
  26. Perform      other duties as assigned.

Work Relationship: 

Reports to:  Quality Supervisor.  

Leads or supervises: None.

  

Cooperates with teams: Thermoforming and Extrusion.
