Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Job Coach
Full-Time (30 Hours per Week)

Position Summary
Starpoint is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and person-centered Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Job Coach to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in achieving meaningful employment and greater independence. This position combines job development, job coaching, and pre-vocational education services to help individuals build workplace skills, secure community employment, and succeed in their chosen career paths.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Job Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with local employers and community businesses.
- Identify employment opportunities that align with individuals' interests, strengths, and goals.
- Assist individuals with job searches, applications, resumes, and interview preparation.
- Advocate for inclusive employment opportunities and workplace accommodations when appropriate.
- Coordinate employment placements and monitor successful job matches.
Job Coaching and Employment Support
- Provide individualized on-site and off-site job coaching.
- Assist individuals in learning job duties, workplace expectations, and professional behaviors.
- Support skill development related to communication, problem-solving, time management, and teamwork.
- Monitor progress and develop strategies to promote increasing independence.
- Maintain regular communication with employers, families, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams.
Pre-Vocational Education
- Facilitate classroom and community-based training focused on employability skills.
- Teach workplace readiness, safety, social skills, self-advocacy, and career exploration.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans and employment goals.
- Document participant progress and outcomes in accordance with agency and state requirements.
Direct Support Services
- Provide person-centered support that promotes dignity, choice, and independence.
- Assist individuals in accessing community resources and participating in community activities.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served.
- Maintain accurate documentation and service records.
Work Schedule
- Full-Time, 30 hours per week.
- Flexible schedule that may include occasional evenings or weekends based on participant and employer needs.
Qualifications
· At least 18 years of age
· High energy, positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills
· Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance
· Ability to pass a criminal background check and Colorado CAPS check
· Dependable, punctual, compassionate, and a strong communicator
· Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred (not required — training provided)

May need to lift/carry 50+ lbs., push/pull 100+ lbs., and stand for 4+ hours
