Job Summary:
We are seeking an Engineering Scheduler who is responsible for leading the planning and scheduling functions to ensure efficient production flow, optimal resource utilization, and on-time delivery of drawings to Sales and/or manufacturing. This role oversees engineering scheduling, order prioritization, and communication across departments. The Engineering Scheduler collaborates closely with Sales, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to develop accurate schedules that support business goals, customer commitments, and operational efficiency.
Location: Commerce, CA/Vernon, CA
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop, maintain, and adjust engineer schedules to ensure on-time delivery and optimal resource utilization.
· Balance engineering capacity with customer (sales or manufacturing) demand and labor availability.
· Lead scheduling strategies that support efficient changeovers, reduced downtime, and balanced workloads.
· Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Purchasing, and Engineering regarding schedule status and updates.
· Communicate schedule changes, priorities, and risks clearly and promptly across team.
· Provide daily/weekly schedule reports to leadership with insights and recommendations.
· Manage scheduling systems and planning reports to ensure accuracy and functionality.
· Track and analyze key metrics such as schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and WIP levels.
· Develop and improve scheduling processes, standard work, and communication protocols.
· Promote a culture of accountability, Urgency, and Transparency.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Associate’s degree or equivalent
· 2+ years of planning, scheduling, or operations experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
· Ability to raise issues early and communicate difficult information clearly
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
· Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
· Bilingual: must be able to clearly communicate in Spanish
· Detail-oriented with a strong execution and ownership mindset
Preferred:
· Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience
· Demonstrated experience building and managing schedules in a project-based or custom environment
· Strong Excel/data analysis capability (pivot tables, dashboards, graphs)
