Manager, Operations (Nu Stadium)

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead the planning and execution of stadium events, including participation in client tours, identifying operational requirements (equipment, staffing, services), and developing cost estimates.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams by translating event needs into detailed event orders, diagrams, and operational plans for both internal departments and third-party vendors.
  • Facilitate planning and operational meetings to ensure alignment across all stakeholders and successful event delivery.
  • Oversee part-time operations staff, including hiring, scheduling, daily task assignment, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional operations with internal departments and external contractors to ensure the facility is fully prepared and event-ready.
  • Ensure all events meet readiness standards for guests, clients, teams, and league requirements, maintaining a high level of service and presentation.
  • Manage compliance and required submissions for MLS, MLS NEXT Pro (MLS II), Academy matches, international fixtures, and special events.
  • Oversee event-related inventory and facility FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), including tracking, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Manage event settlement processes (pre- and post-event) for MLS, international matches, and special events, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation.
  • Utilize and maintain project management systems to track event logistics, timelines, and operational deliverables.
  • Support facility access coordination and lead operational walk-throughs with internal teams and external partners.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections, documenting findings and ensuring timely resolution of operational or safety concerns.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Director of Facility Operations and Facility Engineer as needed.
  • Participate in the Event Manager on Duty (EMOD) rotation to oversee live event operations and ensure real-time issue resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback to leadership and identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support the planning and execution of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, including research, vendor coordination, and implementation.
  • Lead and support special projects across the facility as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of stadium operations.
Requirements
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Event Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required, with the ability to manage and develop staff in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in event and/or operations management within sports, entertainment, or large-scale venue environments strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of event planning processes, including setup, breakdown, and facility conversions.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days as needed.
  • Passion for soccer and the sports industry is a plus.
