Responsibilities

The Store Director is responsible for:

- All department operations of the retail unit.

- Customer welfare and ensuring that complete customer satisfaction is achieved.

- Monitoring the work attitude and performance of all Team Members in the retail unit.

- Oversees the financial performance of the retail unit, including weekly sales tracking, labor cost analysis, and overall revenue management 

- Setting expectations and measuring criteria.

- Effectively executing management skills.

- Make or effectively recommend Team Player related decisions, hire, promote, transfer, discipline, suspend, discharge, reward or otherwise engage in resolving Team Player related matters.

- Delegate work to the appropriate Team Player based on the individual’s ability to accomplish the task.

- Communicate all expectations, coach Team Players, monitor progress, and provide feedback to drive them toward achieving desired results.

- Nurture teamwork among Team Players ensuring a focus towards common goals.

- While working closely with Department Managers, the Store Director is accountable for department labor and production schedules. 

- Lead the management team to ensure coordination and alignment of the total store objectives and plans.

- Report all serious (as predetermined or perceived) Team Player issues to proper upper management. 


As related to merchandising optimization and financial success

- Implement merchandising strategies considering customer needs and buying trends that optimize financial performance all the while aligning with the corporate merchandising strategy.

- Monitor the cost of all the products used in production or sold in retail. 

- Ensure appropriate inventory levels and monitor the sale of each product in each department to optimize the product mix.

- Research new products and product development.

- Monitor and control shrink to meet or exceed the corporate standard. 

- Track and monitor competition to ensure appropriate pricing and customer value.

- Personally communicate with sales representatives and vendors to ensure that all rebates and discounts offered are being utilized. 

- Accountable for an effective in store demonstration programs to promote product sales.

- Ensures that all Federal, State and Company regulations and standards for product freshness, food safety, refrigeration and sanitation are met.

- Ensure store conditions are in presentable & neat order on a regular basis 


Education, Knowledge and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or several years of successful management experience

- Extensive operational experience

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word with the ability and willingness to learn other applicable technology-based applications.

- Knowledge of effective merchandising and marketing strategies regarding product presentation, cross- merchandising, display locations, product/profit mix, etc.

- Knowledge of effective marketing strategies regarding customer trends, market trends, demographics, and marketing concepts such as markdowns, seasonal offerings, etc.   

- Knowledge of government regulations


Physical and Other Requirements 

- Must be able to lift and carry 60 pounds 

- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overheard and side-to-side for an extended period of time

- As dictated by business and need, must be able to work extended hours and varying work schedule
