General Description:

The Contracts & Compliance Specialist supports the full lifecycle of government and commercial contracts while ensuring adherence to applicable regulations such as FAR, DFARS, and export control laws. This role is critical in mitigating risk and ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated aerospace and defense environment.


Essential Functions - include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (e.g., NDAs, subcontracts, teaming agreements)
  • Manage contracts from proposal through closeout (“cradle-to-grave”) 
  • Interpret terms and conditions and advise internal stakeholders
  • Support proposal development and pricing compliance


Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and other government regulations 
  • Monitor contract performance and identify compliance risks
  • Maintain documentation for audits (e.g., DCAA, internal audits)
  • Support export control and data protection requirements


Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with operations, finance, procurement, and sales teams
  • Interface with U.S. government agencies, suppliers, representatives and customers 
  • Provide guidance on contractual risk and compliance strategy


Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Track contract status, deliverables, and compliance metrics
  • Develop and improve contract lifecycle processes
  • Support internal training on compliance requirements


Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Law, Supply Chain, or related)
  • 2–5+ years in government contracting


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS and contract law basics 
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries

Preferred:

  • Experience with ITAR/export compliance
  • Security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
  • ERP/contract management systems experience
  • CPCM certification
