The Managing Director, Marketing leads the execution and scaling of the company’s go to market marketing strategy. This role is responsible for translating corporate and marketing strategy into integrated programs that drive measurable pipeline impact, strengthen market presence, and support customer acquisition and expansion. The Managing Director brings deep marketing leadership experience, strong cross functional instincts, and the ability to convert complex product capabilities into clear, differentiated positioning and messaging.
The Managing Director oversees key marketing disciplines including category and product marketing, demand generation, brand and communications, analyst relations, partner marketing, digital strategy, and sales enablement. This role partners closely with Sales, Alliances, Product, and Finance to ensure marketing efforts are aligned, scalable, and performance driven. The Managing Director plays a critical role in ensuring marketing execution meaningfully supports Elixir’s next phase of growth.
Essential Functions
Under the general supervision of the CEO, the essential functions include:
- Lead key marketing functions including category and product marketing, brand and communications, demand generation, partner marketing, sales enablement, analyst relations, digital experience, and marketing systems to support revenue growth.
- Own the integrated marketing strategy that supports corporate objectives and revenue goals; contribute to company strategy, OKRs, and leadership initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership to assess organizational capabilities, identify gaps, and inform resourcing, hiring, and investment priorities.
- Serve as a senior cross functional leader, fostering strong collaboration and alignment across Alliances, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Finance to ensure marketing plans effectively support go to market priorities.
- Lead the development of market positioning, messaging frameworks, and persona based value propositions, translating complex product capabilities into clear, differentiated narratives for target customers, partners, and verticals.
- Conduct a quarterly needs assessment of the Marketing organization to identify capability gaps and resourcing priorities.
- Foster a collaborative, sales aligned culture by partnering productively across Alliances, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Finance.
- Translate complex product capabilities into compelling, differentiated messaging, value propositions, and persona-based positioning for ideal customer and partner profiles and verticals.
- Drive category marketing and thought leadership initiatives that reinforce Elixir’s point of view and expand market awareness.
- Execute multi channel demand generation programs ensuring consistent pipeline contribution and performance across key channels including events, webinars, website optimization, SEO/SEM, and digital presence.
- Conduct and apply global market, customer, and vertical research to support marketing strategy, alliance motions, sales effectiveness, and product roadmap planning.
- Lead the development and delivery of sales and partner enablement programs including co marketing programs, joint campaigns, and events that support customer acquisition and expansion.
- Partner closely with Alliances leader to identify how partners can drive customer acquisition and expansion.
- Create partner-facing assets, co-marketing motions, and joint events that activate partners as a repeatable source of demand.
- Ensure partner programs are aligned with the overall go to market strategy, with clear partner value propositions, enablement approaches, and success metrics.
- Integrate partner programs into the broader GTM ensuring clear partner value propositions, enablement, and measurement.
- Maintain a Martech stack that enables Alliances, Sales, and Marketing to hit customer acquisition goals; drive KPI led continuous improvement.
- Integrate the use of data and analytics into current toolsets such as Salesforce, HubSpot, and the website.
- Collaborate with Product, Alliances, Sales, and Finance to support pricing, packaging, and competitive analysis initiatives, contributing market insight and customer perspective to enterprise SaaS offerings.
- Partner with product leaders to align go to market execution with the product roadmap, supporting product adoption, customer expansion, and long term value realization.
- Collaborate with Product, Alliances, Sales, and Finance to research, test, and implement pricing and packaging for enterprise cloud software, including partner pricing, tiered services, and support models.
- Conduct competitive R&D and benchmarking (features, solutions, pricing, packaging, bundling) aligned to enterprise cloud SaaS best practices.
- Maintain proactive engagement with analyst firms including Forrester, Gartner, Aspire, IDC, and others to support our category and thought leadership strategy
- Partner with product leaders to help drive ongoing adoption of Elixir products by connecting the product roadmap with go-to-market strategy.
- Maintain any training or certification as required, including compliance training, annual refresher training, policy training, or job-specific certifications.

- Security Designate responsibilities include: Security Designates serve as the primary security contact for their assigned business unit. They are responsible for processing reports of security incidents, data breaches, and policy violations submitted by direct reports within the business unit and for notifying the acting Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of reported incidents, breaches, and violations. Security Designates also coordinate with the Human Resources Department and CISO to impose sanctions on direct reports who violate Elixir’s Security and Compliance policies or applicable legal requirements (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA, etc.). Security Designates monitor fulfillment of sanctions and notify the CISO when the terms of sanctions have been fulfilled. Additional responsibilities include processing complaints related to Elixir’s security and privacy program at the department level; submitting exception requests related to Elixir’s Security and Compliance policies to the CISO; and cooperating with investigations of security incidents, data breaches, and security and privacy violations. In carrying out responsibilities related to Elixir’s Security and Compliance program, Security Designates will utilize the appropriate forms available on the Security and Compliance site on SharePoint.

- Must be able to work onsite at HQ in Ojai, California

Generally, regular business hours plus some evening hours for global conference calls. Additional hours on weekends or holidays may be required on a seasonal basis to meet business needs.
Travel
Quarterly onsite visits to customers, partners, and industry events (including trade shows, conferences, and speaking engagements). Ability to visit HQ in Ojai regularly and relocate within six months.
