Warehouse/Master Scheduler Manager
Greenwood, MS Operations
Description

The Warehouse/Master Scheduler Manager is responsible for internal material control and production scheduling within the four walls of the manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate inventory, efficient material flow, and executable production schedules that align with plant capacity and material availability. The position focuses on driving schedule adherence, eliminating material-related disruptions, and optimizing inventory and flow to support operational performance.

Master Scheduling (Plant-Level Execution)

  • Develop and maintain a Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on firm demand, WIP status, and plant capacity
  • Translate MPS into finite, executable production schedules for the shop floor
  • Sequence work orders to optimize flow, changeovers, and resource utilization
  • Monitor and drive schedule adherence, adjusting in real time based on material availability, downtime, or labor constraints
  • Coordinate with production leadership to ensure daily/shift-level execution alignment

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Own inventory accuracy (=98%) through cycle counting and disciplined transaction control
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies with root cause and corrective actions
  • Maintain alignment between physical inventory and ERP/WMS system records
  • Manage excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory within the plant

Material Flow & Line Support

  • Ensure material availability aligned to the production schedule at point-of-use (POU)
  • Design and manage internal replenishment systems (kanban, kitting, supermarkets, milk runs)
  • Coordinate material staging and movement to support schedule execution without delays
  • Continuously improve material presentation and flow efficiency

Warehouse & Internal Logistics Operations

  • Lead warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, and line-side delivery
  • Establish standard work for material handling and internal logistics teams
  • Optimize layout, space utilization, and material movement paths
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards

System & Transactional Discipline

  • Ensure real-time, accurate execution of all inventory and production transactions
  • Support scheduling integrity through accurate BOMs, routings, and inventory parameters
  • Drive discipline in work order management, backflushing, and scanning systems

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Partner with production, quality, and engineering to resolve schedule and material-related constraints
  • Participate in daily tier/MDI meetings to escalate risks to schedule adherence
  • Communicate recovery plans for missed schedules or material shortages within the plant

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive improvements in schedule adherence, inventory reduction, and material flow efficiency
  • Reduce line downtime due to material and scheduling issues
  • Implement lean tools such as pull systems, visual scheduling boards, and standard work
  • Improve dock-to-line and internal replenishment lead times

Key Metrics / KPIs

  • Schedule Adherence (%)
  • On-Time Production Completion
  • Line Downtime Due to Material
  • Inventory Accuracy (%)
  • Inventory Turns / Days on Hand (internal focus)
  • Material Availability at Point-of-Use
  • Dock-to-Line / Replenishment Lead Time
  • Warehouse Productivity & Throughput
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 5–10 years in materials management, production scheduling, or internal logistics within manufacturing
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and shop floor scheduling
  • Strong background in inventory control and lean material flow
  • Deep understanding of MPS, finite scheduling, and  shop floor execution
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and internal material flow systems
  • Ability to balance schedule priorities with material and capacity constraints
  • Data-driven decision making with strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
