SUMMARY: A Desktop Ops Assistant provides operational support to the Desktop Support team, handling routine projects and procedures related to computer hardware maintenance and inventory, office organization and cleanliness, and physical technology projects on-site.
LOCATION: South of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, NW corner of W. Airport Freeway (Hwy. 183) and Valley View Lane

COMPENSATION: Commensurate based on experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain inventory of in-stock computer systems, including performing system imaging, system backup, physical cleaning, and preparation for computer retirement.
- Regularly evaluate peripheral stock in the department office, ensuring all hardware is in its prescribed place, and maintain a minimum stock for necessary items.
- Periodically assist with ticket responses at the tier 1 level, escalating any unresolved issues to Desktop Support Technicians.
- Frequently audit remote auction and trade show equipment.
- Create and maintain SOP documents for internal procedures.
- Prepare hardware kits and packages for employee onboarding and verify new employee work environments are set up with the necessary technology (in tandem with Desktop Support Technicians)
- Other duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred
- 0–2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or technical operations preferred
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems; Mac OS experience a plus
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting for hardware and peripheral issues
- Exposure to IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk) preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and equipment tracking
- Ability to follow and document standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with a customer-service-oriented approach
- Ability to assess issues, provide initial support, and escalate when appropriate
- Comfortable working on-site in a hands-on environment, including setting up and moving equipment
- Ability to lift and transport computer equipment as needed up to 50 lbs
