Electronic DVPO Program Coordinator


Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Grade(s): 10/11


Purpose:  

The Electronic DVPO Program Coordinator supports implementation of the Electronic Service Protection Order Court Pilot Project. The position coordinates activities that allow domestic violence protection orders to be served through legally compliant electronic communication systems.

The coordinator works within the Public Safety Division and collaborates closely with the Tribal Access Program (TAP), Village Public Safety Officers (VPSO), Community Safety Officers (CSO), Tribal Court, and partner agencies.

The position also coordinates the evaluation, selection, and implementation of technology systems used to electronically transmit and track protection orders. Additionally, this role provides support for the Public Safety Division’s Tribal Emergency Operations Center (TEOC) Incident Command System (ICS) training and emergency preparedness efforts, contributing to overall program efficiency and readiness.


Essential Functions. An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Coordinate development and implementation of the electronic protection order service program

• Work with the IT department and Tribal Court to evaluate and implement technology solutions for electronic service of protection orders

• Assist with selection and implementation of electronic communication systems used for protection order service

• Coordinate collaboration between Public Safety, Tribal Court, VPSO, CSO, TAP, and partner agencies

• Assist with development of procedures and best practices for electronic service of protection orders

• Ensure program implementation aligns with due process requirements and court procedures

• Coordinate multidisciplinary project partner meetings

• Track project activities, milestones, and grant deliverables

• Maintain documentation required for federal grant reporting

• Assist with preparation of performance reports and program updates

• Support training and technical assistance related to the electronic DVPO system

• Support TEOC ICS training and emergency preparedness efforts, ensuring operational readiness in coordination with public safety initiatives.

• Other duties as assigned






Requirements


Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, social services, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Three (3) - Five (5) years of experience in program coordination, legal systems, public safety, or victim services

• Experience working with partner agencies or government programs

• Must be 21 years of age with a Valid driver’s license.


Preferred Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

• Experience working with tribal courts or justice systems

• Experience coordinating technology implementation projects

• Experience with grant funded programs

• Maintain program records and documentation required for federal reporting

• Assist with semiannual performance reporting requirements

• Ensure activities comply with OVW grant conditions and guidelines

• Some travel may be required on small aircraft or ferry.  

• Certain positions at Tlingit and Haida may have exposure to certain hazardous materials or conditions.  The supervisor will review these if applicable.
