Description

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in the assigned subject area (e.g., math, science, ELA, social studies, CTE).

- Create meaningful learning experiences that prepare students for college, careers, and postsecondary pathways.

- Develop units, lessons, labs, and projects that integrate real-world applications and discipline-specific skills.

- Provide timely, targeted feedback to students to support mastery of course content.

- Use assessment data to differentiate instruction, reteach concepts, and design intervention/enrichment opportunities.

- Maintain accurate grades, attendance records, and documentation required for state and district reporting.

- Supervise and support students during instructional time, labs, and school-based activities.

- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, pacing, and assessment practices.

- Serve as a club advisor, mentor, coach, or sponsor for extracurricular programs when applicable.

- Communicate clearly with families about student progress and expectations through conferences, digital platforms, and reports.

- Participate in team meetings, IEP meetings when applicable, and schoolwide professional learning communities.

- Participate in professional development related to content specialization, advanced coursework, or certification enhancement.

- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor/administrator


Requirements

Required Qualifications

- Valid South Carolina Secondary (9–12) teaching credential in a subject area such as: 

  • English (9–12)
  • Mathematics (9–12)
  • Science fields (Biology, Chemistry, Earth/Space Science, Physics)
  • Social Studies fields (Government, Economics, History, Psychology, Sociology)
  • Industrial Technology, Business/Marketing, Agriculture Science, and other CTE fields (9–12)

- Bachelor’s degree and completion of SC educator preparation requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AP, dual-enrollment, Cambridge, or IB coursework.

- Knowledge of career-readiness competencies and pathways.
