Description
The Drawer Builder (Dovetail) is responsible for the production of high-quality dovetail drawers, learning the entire process from material preparation to assembly and finishing. This role involves working with a team, ensuring precision in dovetail joints, and maintaining production schedules to meet project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of dovetail drawers, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship and precision.
- Preparation, cutting, assembly, and finishing of dovetail joints.
- Operate and maintain woodworking machinery, including dovetail jigs, saws, and sanders.
- Train the drawer-building apprentices, providing guidance and ensuring quality control.
- Ensure accurate measurements, cuts, and alignment for flawless assembly.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of finished drawers.
- Manage material inventory, ensuring sufficient stock and maintaining a well-organized workspace.
- Follow and enforce all safety protocols and ensure team compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform quality checks on finished products and troubleshoot any production issues.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in woodworking, specifically dovetail joinery, with a strong attention to detail.
- Must be good with people and able to work with the team effectively.
- Proficient in using woodworking tools and machinery, including dovetail jigs and saws.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to maintain production efficiency.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
