Description
$500 bonus after successful completion of 6 months of employment 

The Lead Direct Support Professional (Lead DSP) provides hands-on, person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities while serving as a leader and role model for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).

This role is responsible for supporting daily operations within day services and community-based programs, ensuring individuals are actively engaged in meaningful, goal-oriented activities. The Lead DSP helps guide staff, maintain structure, and promote a safe, positive, and productive environment for both individuals served and team members.


 

  • Location: Omaha, NE 
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM 
  • Employment Type: Full-Time 
  • Pay: $18–$22 per hour (depending on experience) 
  • Retention Bonus: $500 bonus after successful completion of 6 months of employment
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 


  • Provide direct, person-centered support to individuals in day services and community settings 
  • Lead daily activities and ensure individuals are engaged in structured, meaningful programming 
  • Serve as a shift leader and support DSP staff throughout the day 
  • Ensure completion of documentation, including ISP data and daily notes 
  • Promote independence, skill development, and community inclusion 
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment 
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families as needed 
  • Identify concerns and escalate appropriately to supervisors



Minimum Requirements:


  • Must be 18 years of age or older 
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent 
  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience in human services or working with individuals with developmental disabilities 
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance 
  • Reliable transportation and a reliable means of communication (cell phone) 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Ability to follow directions, complete assigned tasks, and recognize when supervisor support is needed 
  • Must pass criminal history, APS, CPS, and all required background checks


 

Training Requirements


Must be willing and able to complete and maintain all required trainings, including:

  • Medication Aide Training 
  • CPR & First Aid 
  • MANDT 
  • Individual Rights Training 
  • Abuse & Neglect Training 
  • HIPAA & Confidentiality Training 
  • Infection Control & Emergency Procedures 
  • Any additional agency or state-required trainings
