Chemical Production Operator
Description

Position Overview

A chemical production operator is responsible for maintaining heavy machines and equipment for chemical processing operations. They carefully handle chemicals, observe the mixing process, and support process development by assisting on strategic procedures to maximize productivity and plan initiatives. A chemical production operator must adhere to the safety protocols of the production, especially on storing chemicals, recording information to the database, and operating machines.


Primary Functions and Responsibilities

  • Operating machines and mixing batches according to manufacturing instructions
  • Maintenance of production equipment according to procedures
  • Conduct daily quality inspections including measurements/data recording
  • Package material accordingly 
  • Restock raw material properly per SAP work instructions 
  • Storing, retrieving, mixing, and monitoring chemicals used in the production process.
  • Record information, such as ingredients, weight and temperature
  • Troubleshoot issues with production equipment and processes
  • Report accidents, safety violations, or other concerns 
  • Work with other team members to complete production process
  • Perform 5S Daily housekeeping of the chemical production area
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic math skills
  • Understanding measuring devices
  • Forklift operations
  • Follow guidelines regarding health and safety 


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Warehouse environment (non-controlled temperature)
  • Ability to be standing and moving around for 8 hours or more during shift
  • Ability to work overtime and some weekends
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
