The Role You’ll PlayAs an Adult Community Services Intern, you will actively support adults whose mental health symptoms impact daily functioning. Under supervision, you will help implement person-centered plans, strengthen coping skills, and promote independence in real community settings.
You will see firsthand how consistent support, advocacy, and skill-building can change lives. This role is ideal for students who want meaningful client interaction and a deeper understanding of community-based behavioral health.
What You’ll Do:

  • Provide direct support in client homes and community settings, helping individuals build skills and increase independence
  • Assist clients in identifying triggers, developing coping strategies, and maintaining stability
  • Support crisis stabilization efforts while promoting dignity, advocacy, and community integration
  • Transport clients as needed in accordance with agency policy
  • Complete accurate documentation, maintain scheduling in Credible, and learn professional compliance standards  
Work Environment

This position is community-based and active. You will travel throughout the service area, work directly with adults experiencing mental health challenges, and engage in real-time problem solving and support. The role requires flexibility, professionalism, strong boundaries, and a willingness to learn.  

Requirements

equired:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master's level program in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening  
Salary Description
$7.25/ hour
