Parker Store Manager Trainee
Description

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Parker Store Manager Trainee to join our team in Schertz, TX. This role is designed for individuals who want to develop leadership skills, learn the full operation of a Parker Store, and build a long-term career in the fluid power industry. This individual will develop a working knowledge of the Parker Hannifin Fluid Connector product portfolio, including hydraulic hose, fittings, adapters, quick couplings, and related fluid power components. Through structured hands-on training, they will learn all aspects of Parker Store operations including customer service, hose assembly, inventory management, sales support, and store leadership.


The MIT will work cross-functionally with both the Parker Store, warehouse, and customer service teams while developing the technical knowledge and operational experience necessary to lead a Parker Store location.


Duties/Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales

  • Provide exceptional service to walk-in and phone customers
  • Respond to customer requests for pricing, product availability, product information, and technical support
  • Assist customers in identifying appropriate Parker products and fluid power solutions for their applications
  • Process counter sales, quotes, and customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Utilize TrulinX for order entry, pricing, inventory lookup, and customer account management
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and returning customers
  • Promote Parker products and identify opportunities to increase sales and profitability
  • Learn to cross-reference competitive products to Parker equivalents when applicable
  • Process customer returns and assist in resolving order-related issues
  •  Provide product literature and technical resources to customers

Hose Assembly & Technical Support

  • Assemble hydraulic hoses, fittings, and hose kits according to Parker specifications
  • Learn Parker hose assembly procedures and proper use of tools and equipment
  • Safely handle hoses and components that may contain oil, grease, dirt, or mud while utilizing appropriate PPE
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting and application-related questions

Store Operations & Leadership Development

  • Participate in training related to Parker Store operations, workflow, and leadership responsibilities
  • Assist with operational decision-making and problem-solving activities
  • Learn to manage inventory levels, product stocking, and inventory accuracy
  • Maintain product information, reference materials, and vendor resources
  • Document production and quality activities as required
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment in compliance with company procedures and standards

Warehouse & Inventory Support

  • Assist with receiving, stocking, picking, and organizing inventory
  • Support warehouse operations during slower customer service periods
  • Work collaboratively between Parker Store and Wilson warehouse teams
  • Assist with sourcing parts for rush orders and expediting customer needs when necessary

Customer Outreach & Business Development

  • Participate in periodic in-person visits with current and prospective Parker Store customers
  • Support relationship-building efforts alongside Account Managers when appropriate
  • Contribute to team sales initiatives and customer engagement activities

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following company policies and safety procedures
  • Conserve resources by properly utilizing equipment and supplies
  • Support team objectives by assisting with additional responsibilities as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with industrial and commercial customers
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in technical product applications
  • Ability to learn and assemble hydraulic hoses and hose kits
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in order processing and inventory tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to clarify and confirm customer needs
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot customer requests
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software systems
  • Previous experience with ERP systems is preferred; exposure to TrulinX is a plus
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize TrulinX for order entry, inventory lookup, and customer account management
  • Bilingual skills are a plus

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical schooling, trade training, or four-year degree preferred
  • Previous experience in customer service, industrial sales, retail sales, warehouse operations, or mechanical environments preferred
  • Experience with fluid power products, hydraulic hose, or industrial distribution is a plus but not required
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
  • On-the-job training will be provided

Physical Requirements:

  •  Ability to lift and move materials up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions using hands and arms
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts or containers
  • Ability to work in both retail counter and warehouse environments
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures, including heat, humidity, and cold
  • Ability to safely handle industrial components that may contain oil, grease, dirt, or debris

Salary Range, throughout:

  • During Training: $18/hr - $22/hr, or approximately $37,500.00 - $45,750.00 annually
  • Successful Completion of Training Rotation: $24/hr - $30/hr, or approximately $50,000.00 - $62,500.00 annually

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and acceptable motor vehicle record, as well as possession of a valid driver’s license prior to start date.


Onboarding & Training Rotation:

The Parker Store Manager Trainee program provides hands-on experience across Wilson Company operations while developing the technical knowledge and leadership skills needed to successfully manage a Parker Store. The program includes a combination of operational rotations and product training. Timeframes may vary based on operational needs and individual progress.

  • Warehouse Operations – Approx. 1 Month
  • Customer Service – Approx. 3 Months
  • Parker Store Clerk – Approx. 2 Months
  • Hose Technician (Hose Doctor) – Approx. 2 Weeks to 1 Month
  • Parker Store Associate – Ongoing
  • Additional Technical Training & Certifications
Salary Description
During Training: $18/hr-$22/hr
