Overview 

At the Downtown Seattle Association, our mission is to create a healthy, vibrant downtown for all. The Downtown Summer Sounds Concert Series plays an important role in creating welcoming public spaces for all to enjoy.  


Position Overview 

This role will assist in the planning and promotion of the World Cup, Downtown Summer Sounds Concert Series, and other activations put on DSA/MID working closely with the Public Realm Operations and Communications & Marketing teams. 


Duties and Tasks 

Assist in the planning and implementation of the Downtown Summer Sounds Concert Series and other public realm events and programming 

Represent DSA at all concerts as onsite point of contact to venue staff, booking agency, production staff, sponsors, etc. to ensure smooth event and activity execution 

Responsible for DSA set up at each concert, arriving on time, setting up promotional materials and manage rental and production staffing to ensure timely set up 

Responsible for on-stage announcements at concerts, recognizing appropriate partners, sponsors, etc. 

Conduct consistent and accurate data collection (concert attendees, equipment and material inventory, etc.) for reporting and presentations 

Carry out consistent communication with venue staff, booking agency, production staff, sponsors, etc. to share information, change plans, cancellations, updates, etc. 

Conduct outreach and distribute collateral and promotional materials at concert venues and neighboring businesses 

Keep inventory and replenish supplies throughout concert series 

Assist with updates to the organization’s websites, blog and social media outlets 

Assist with the development and updating of community stakeholder lists as needed 

Follow project timelines and task lists 

Ensure all deliverables are provided on-time and consistent with approved formats, within allotted hours and budget 

Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned 

Serve as on-site support for World Cup programming across multiple parks and public spaces, moving quickly between sites as operational needs arise. 

Provide administrative and logistical support during DSA Summer of Sports at various watch parties and events.  


 


Employment Details 

DSA is committed to internal and market equity. 

The hourly pay for this position is $21.30 per hour  

To include Company paid: ORCA Card?and sick time accrual based on Seattle sick and safe.  

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with diverse members of the public. 

Willingness to be helpful and make a difference in our community. 

Ability to take direction 

Strong written and verbal communication skills 

Ability to interact professionally with clients and demonstrate good judgment 

Highly organized and attentive to details with excellent follow-through 

Ability to work occasional early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays 

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel 

Marketing skills, with the ability to help with live social media posts a plus. 

Concert and/or live production experience a plus.  

Knowledge of the downtown area and how to get around is a plus. 


Physical Demands and Work Environment 

Work Environment – Working in parks and public spaces in downtown Seattle, outdoors in all weather conditions, with exposure to potentially hazardous waste/substances. *Urban outdoor conditions*

Physical Demands – Must be able to lift and transport up to 40 pounds. Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
