Job Summary
The Shipping Associate is responsible for supporting outbound logistics operations within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures timely, accurate, and safe shipment of materials, products, and components while maintaining inventory accuracy and warehouse organization. The Shipping Associate plays a key role in meeting production and customer delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping
- Prepare, package, label, and ship finished goods and materials in accordance with shipping requirements and company procedures.
- Load trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment.
- Complete and maintain accurate shipping paperwork and system transactions.
Material Handling & Inventory
- Move, stage, and organize finished goods throughout the warehouse.
- Ensure proper product identification, labeling, and storage.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Support production and order fulfillment needs by supplying materials as required.
Equipment & Safety
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in compliance with company policy and OSHA regulations.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
General Warehouse Support
- Assist with palletizing, wrapping, banding, and consolidating shipments.
- Follow standard operating procedures and quality requirements.
- Perform other warehouse and logistics-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional warehouse or logistics training preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in shipping, or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift experience and ability to obtain certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for inventory systems and shipping documentation.
- RF/EKW Scanner experience preferred.
