Production Lead
Description

Under general supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Team Lead performs assigned tasks in any functional area of production, in addition to coordinating workflow among team members and monitoring employee conformance with GMPs, safety and other Company policies, product quality, and asset performance to assist in delivering on-time the shift/line/area production plan. Leads by example for others by creating and maintaining a positive workplace culture that engages and motivates all team members.


Key Responsibilities (or Principle Accountabilities):

  • Communicates regularly and in coordination with the Production Supervisor to assign duties to crew members, interprets job orders and specifications, and monitors work for exactness, neatness and conformance to specifications and informs supervisor of any observation or finding that could impact the safety and quality of company products.
  • Resolves basic production issues, escalating more complex production and worker issues to the Supervisor. 
  • Performs assigned tasks in any area of Production, such as filling in as Case Packer, Machine Operator, SAP data entry, etc. to meet the needs of the business.
  • Follows, informs and monitors team compliance with Company and department GMP and safety rules, processes, and procedures.  
  • Provides coverage during meals/breaks in accordance with company and department policies. 
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all equipment and tools in facility while observing all sanitation and safety precautions.
  • Trains team members on proper use of equipment as needed.
  • Monitors quality and appearance of the products.
  • Participates in interviewing, training and onboarding of new employees and temporary workers. 
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum High School education
  • Preferred one-year certificate from      college or technical school; or
  • One to two years’ related experience      and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and      experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to perform unit measures, conversion calculations and other mathematical calculations reasonably necessary to satisfactorily perform job duties.

Physical Demands / Mental demands

  • Ability to work within deadlines, solve problems and adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move items over 50lbs. assisted.

Work Environment:

This position is required to work in manufacturing environment facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
