Description

 

Position Summary:
The Salad Department Associate is responsible for preparing, assembling, portioning, and packaging salad products in a food manufacturing environment. This role ensures all products meet quality, safety, and sanitation standards while maintaining efficiency and adherence to company procedures and food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, weighing, and portioning vegetables and other salad components 
  • Assemble salads according to standardized recipes and production guidelines 
  • Operate basic food processing and packaging equipment safely and efficiently 
  • Monitor product quality, ensuring consistency in appearance, taste, and portion size 
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (GMPs, HACCP, company policies) 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift 
  • Label, package, and seal finished products accurately 
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of tools, equipment, and workstations 
  • Report any food safety concerns, equipment issues, or product inconsistencies to supervisors 
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and deadlines 
  • Follow proper handling and storage procedures to prevent contamination and waste 
  • Assist with inventory control by tracking ingredients and reporting shortages
Requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in food production, food service, or manufacturing is a plus 
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices 
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment 
  • Basic math skills for measuring and portioning ingredients 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 lbs as needed 
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions 
  • Ability to work in cold environments (refrigerated production areas) 
  • Manual dexterity to handle knives, tools, and packaging materials safely 

Work Environment:

  • Food manufacturing facility with exposure to cold temperatures, wet surfaces, and production machinery 
  • May require shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on production needs
