Job Title: Senior Project Control Specialist
FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time
Salary: $95,000-$115,000, Negotiable Depending on Qualifications

Position Description Summary:
The Senior Project Control Specialist will work directly with the Project Performance Group Director, Division Leaders and Project Managers in support of the project’s financial goals and objectives. This position will also participate in discussions with the Project Team and Management on the status of the project financials to identify project risks and opportunities that can impact contribution to the overall corporate revenue and margin plans. This includes project setup, work plan coordination, contract administration, measuring and reporting progress, and analyzing cost or revenue deviations.
The Specialist will prepare and/or support preparation of project cost and revenue updates, material expense forecasts, labor forecasts and monthly project completion reports. Requires the ability to analyze contract terms, identify cost trends, and interpret schedule impacts. This information will be reported accurately and timely between departments and to the project manager(s).
Essential Function(s) of the Position:
- Initiate, review, support approval, and track execution of client contracts and subconsultant agreements, including contract amendments.
- Review, approve, and track contract billing rates to ensure compliance with contractual and internal requirements.
- Prepare, review, and maintain subconsultant contracts, and coordinate contractual communication with subconsultants.
- Serve as a point of coordination for client communication related to contractual matters.
- Assist project managers with project setup, ensuring contracts, budgets, schedules, and work plans are established accurately and in accordance with company policies, standards, methodologies, and processes.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project work plans to ensure schedule, scope, and financials are accurately tracked and reported.
- Review project and work plans to identify project erosion and potential financial risks.
- Monitor project financial performance, including:
- Reviewing and approving invoices (subconsultants and expense tracking)
- Performing project financial reconciliations as needed
- Identifying labor corrections and guiding staff through correction processes
- Preparing or supporting project cost and revenue updates, labor forecasts, material expense forecasts, and monthly project completion reports
- Identify projects at risk of budget overages and proactively coordinate with project managers to develop mitigation strategies.
- Analyze contract terms, cost trends, and schedule impacts to support accurate forecasting and timely reporting.
- Assist in the monthly reporting process, including preparing a draft Contract Review Report for discussion with management.
- Prepare and assist with reports, presentations, and budgeting activities related to project setup and ongoing execution.
- Maintain complete, organized, and compliant project files and folder structures, ensuring contractual document audit compliance.
- Maintain continuity of work operations by documenting actions, communicating issues to management, identifying irregularities, and determining ongoing needs.
- Support department and organizational objectives by completing related tasks and special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School Degree required. Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related field is preferred. Applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
- Advanced systems skills – SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite – especially Excel.
- Knowledge of VantagePoint or a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is a plus.
- 4-7 years of relevant work experience required, more work experience is a plus.
