Description
Responsible to the Head Athletic Trainer and Athletics Director for providing athletic training services to student-athletes.
1. Perform various athletic training activities to include:
- Coverage at athletic events – home and away
- Injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation
- Professional consultation
2. Provide athletic training coverage for summer athletic camp.
- Perform various athletic training activities to include injury prevention and evaluation.
- Maintain adequate and appropriate records for all camp participants.
- Provide first responder coverage.
3. Assist in Health and Safety Programs
- Deliver various conditioning and educational programs to a varied population
4. Assist in liability control activities:
- Maintain adequate and appropriate records and monitor drug and supply inventories
- Assist in coordination of athlete physical exam and insurance information.
5. Maintain departmental emergency plan and equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and Board of Certification required. Master’s degree and two/three years of effective experience - preferred.
- Eligible for license in Iowa.
- Certification as CPR, First Aid and AED Instructor beneficial but not required.
- Ability to travel.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
- Knowledge of injury tracking software programs, Microsoft Office and various modalities preferred.
