Description

Job Summary

The EVS Supervisor in charge of monitoring housekeeping staff in a hospital establishment. Their main responsibilities are maintaining stocks, ordering cleaning products, supervising housekeepers, scheduling shifts, training new employees and taking corrective actions when necessary.

Requirements

Essential Functions


  •  Responsible for managing time and attendance for housekeeping staff, scheduling and disciplinary actions. 
  • Provide Housekeeping staff with regular cleaning and maintenance tasks. 
  • Oversee staff daily to ensure areas are cleaned to Hospital Standards
  • Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness
  • Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in case of absence. 
  • Conduct recruiting, hiring, interviewing of new housekeeping staff. 
  • Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards
  • Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job
  • Respond to customer complaints and special requests
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach and rubber gloves
  • Participate in large cleaning projects as required
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.

Experience:

  • Up six-months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Training or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Education

  • High school education or associate’s degree
  • Some college preferred.
