Job Title: SATCOM Systems Engineer

CompQsoft  is helping the Defense Information Systems Agency solve complex  end-to-end challenges for the DoD SATCOM enterprise.  The SATCOM  enterprise includes all DoD SATCOM: wideband, narrowband, and protected  as well as both MILSATCOM and COMSATCOM.  The engineering will involve  end-to-end analysis using creative analysis techniques, software tools  and first had knowledge of these systems.  As a CompQsoft team member  you will participate with a technical team across the DoD SATCOM  enterprise and conduct trade studies, develop system level requirements,  security requirements, reference architectures for Space, Ground,  Gateway and Control segments and other enterprise level technical  products.  You will interface and provide presentations to senior level  personnel. 

Responsibilities:

• Technical team member

•  Develop study plans and schedules for technical end to end analysis,  coordinate the plans with technical stakeholders in DoD and participate  in the technical working groups 

•  Conduct trade studies to a modern architecture and prepare reference  architectures, standards, and technical guidelines for an SATCOM  enterprise capability

•  Interact with technical experts from the DoD Services and Agencies in  technical interchange meetings to resolve issues and develop interfaces  to other enterprise SATCOM planning capabilities

•  Participate in weekly technical meetings, customer technical meetings  and support preparation of status reports and other technical reports

Required Skills:

• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment

• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

• Solid communication and presentation skills to senior level government personnel

• Understanding of fundamental systems engineering principles, processes, and techniques

• Understanding of existing SATCOM systems and their associated space, ground, gateway, and control segments

• Knowledge of modern SATCOM technologies

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with end-to-end systems analysis in a SATCOM enterprise

• Experience with SATCOM enterprise architecture development and DoD architecture processes

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a technical area

• Demonstrated use of link budget, loading, and analysis tools

• Demonstrated use of MS Office Suite (O-365), including Word, Teams, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint

• Must have an active Secret clearance to be considered for the position.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with model-based architecture development 

• Hands on technical and operational SATCOM
