Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Patient Financial Coordinator to support the financial experience of patients across multiple orthodontic locations. This role is patient-facing and focused on financial communication and account management. You will play a key role in helping patients understand their financial responsibilities and ensuring a smooth, transparent payment process from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Present and explain financial options and payment plans to patients
- Coordinate and set up patient payment arrangements in alignment with practice policies
- Accurately enter patient contracts into the system
- Review patient accounts for accuracy and resolve account discrepancies
- Collect payments and ensure proper posting to patient ledgers
- Maintain accurate financial records across multiple locations
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients regarding balances and financial expectations
- Work closely with practice managers and leadership to address financial concerns or workflow improvements
- Utilize practice management software and financial tools to manage accounts efficiently
Requirements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ year of experience in a patient financial, treatment coordination, or dental/orthodontic financial role (multi-site experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of orthodontic or dental financial processes and payment structures
- Proficient in Excel and practice management software
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-location environment
- Willingness to travel one time a year to visit practices
Salary Description
$25-30 an hour
