Job Summary

 The Driver/Laborer position is responsible for delivering materials to job site locations in the most efficient and safest manner. The role also includes the oversight and maintenance for the trucks, trailers, donkeys, or other equipment as needed. Due to the daily driving tasks and other assigned duties, this position is required to work in person on-site.

Duties and Responsibilities  

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance and report to work as scheduled  

• Some overnight travel required  

• Provide excellent customer service and reflect our company’s core values at all times  

• Drive vehicles to transport materials to and from specified destinations and adhering to all jobsite specific instructions communicated  

• Maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition and DOT compliant   

• Conduct Daily Inspections including pre and post trip inspections; making fluid level, air pressure, mechanical and all other adjustments required based on inspection results  

• Perform emergency repairs such as installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains  

• Report on any mechanical problems encountered with any and all equipment used  

• Load and unload trucks, move materials within yard or work site, or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or by yard truck  

• Responsible for installation of strapping, bracing, or padding to materials including placement and tightening of restraints prior to departure to prevent shifting or damage in transit  

• Load, transport, unload QSI equipment and complete company documentation  

• Take photographs of all deliveries, pickups and upload them to company software  

• Use of phone and tablet-based company applications and software  

• Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures  

• Read maps, follow written/verbal geographic directions by taking the most direct route to and from destination while avoiding unnecessary stops  

• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to Logistics Manager  

• Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations  

• Exhibit a positive and professional disposition  

• Perform other duties as assigned  

• Complies with QSI policies and procedures

Requirements

 Education and/or Experience 

  •  High School Diploma or equivalent required  
  •  Knowledge of building materials and building process 
  •  Forklift certification with 90 days of employment is required by employer 
  •  Any job-related experience and/or training, which would produce the required knowledge, skills and abilities 
  • Must have CDL Class B minimum 
  • QSI provides on-the-job training
