PURPOSE OF POSITION:

A Mental Health Therapist at Catholic Charities: 


Provides clinical assessment/problem identification, crisis intervention, individual, family, and group therapy, and case management to OB/Gyn patients, expectant women, fathers, and their families at Marisol Health Clinics. Works as member of a multidisciplinary, collaborative care team, provides expert subject matter consultation to staff and ensures the integration of a continuum of services through Catholic Charities and community resources 

  • Provide comprehensive behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients in an OB/GYN clinic
  • Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy for individuals experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, anxiety, OCD, and birth-related trauma
  • Assess and treat current and historical trauma, including complex trauma, intimate partner violence, and adverse childhood experiences
  • Utilize evidence-based trauma treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), EMDR, and other validated modalities
  • Provide dyadic and family-based interventions to support the parent–child relationship, attachment, and early childhood development
  • Address attachment disruptions in infants and young children using developmentally appropriate, relationship-based approaches
  • Provide case-specific clinical supervision and documentation review to pre-licensed clinicians and unlicensed professionals providing behavioral health services per the agency’s Rendering Provider Oversight policy. 
  • Collaborate with OB/GYN providers, midwives, lactation consultants, and care coordinators to support integrated care delivery
  • Participate in warm handoffs and same-day behavioral health consultations within the clinic setting
  • Deliver brief, solution-focused interventions as well as longer-term therapy when clinically indicated
  • Provide psychoeducation on perinatal mental health, trauma, and infant/early childhood development
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Participate in case consultation, interdisciplinary team meetings, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives
  • Perform appropriate case management; refer clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling.
  • Document client contacts and progress in accordance with accepted charting standards. 
  • Consult with groups and individuals when needed.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with referral sources and community agencies.
  • Document client contacts and progress in accordance with agency’s electronic health records systems and in compliance with program requirements.
  • Complete necessary administrative duties timely and accurately. 
  • Provide education, training and/or planning in mental health human service issues as appropriate. 
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current, unrestricted licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, or PsyD) in the state of Colorado
  • Demonstrated experience providing evidence-based treatment for trauma-related disorders, including both acute and complex trauma
  • Training and/or certification in at least one evidence-based trauma modality (e.g., CPT, TF-CBT, EMDR, or equivalent)
  • Experience working with perinatal populations, including pregnant and postpartum women preferred
  • Clinical experience supporting parents, infants, and young children, including dyadic or family-based treatment approaches preferred
  • Knowledge of attachment theory and experience addressing attachment-related concerns in early childhood

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree (MA/MS/MSW) or doctorate degree from accredited college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training in the field of counseling psychology, social work, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience in the field of perinatal mental health, early childhood mental health, and trauma-informed practice is preferred

  • Licensed Therapist
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
