The Seeding Lead is one of the most critical members of our growing team. Their role supports producing a quality product on time for our customers by overseeing the seeding machine operators, seeding machines, automation system for plate movements, seed germination and cleaning in coordination with production plans

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Role may include some or all of the responsibilities listed below)

• Seed placement
• Keeping track of seed loss
• Maintaining proper soil moisture
• Quality - Support Food Safety by always ensuring cleanliness of the equipment and area
• Check that the gutters are always clean
• Maintain the equipment in good running condition
• Pay attention to the details
• Point of contact for all support areas, work with Maintenance technicians on equipment problems
• Communication with the seeding supervisor
• Sending end-of-day report at the end of each shift
• Managing plate movements in the germination box
• Managing movements to the grow lines above
• Keep the seeding/movement information board updated
• Any other jobs as required by the direct supervisor

• Ability to train new or existing seeding machine operators
• Multitasking between seeding and movements

• Ability to drive a forklift (preferred)
• Standing on feet for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs
• Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues with equipment
• Must be able to work weekends
• Computer Savvy 
• Bi-lingual preferred but not required
