POSITION
Banquet kitchen supervisor for high end event venue in Mendon, MA.

OUR VENUE

Grand View offers panoramic water views and a spectacular setting for private events which can accommodate 100 to 250 guests comfortably. Our luxurious event space is nestled upon 8 acres of land and is one of the most beautiful properties in the north-east region with the service and cuisine to match.

JOB SUMMARY
Duties will include (but not limited to):

The Banquet Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for 

· Oversee all production during prep shifts to ensure food safety and our standards and being followed at all times. 

· Assist in training new staff members in all areas of the kitchen.

· Prepare menu items for guests with allergies for all courses while avoiding cross-contamination.

· Assist in the control of productivity and labor.

· Assist with producing consistent, safe, and sanitary food storage, preparation and cooking. 

· Assist in controlling the sanitation of the kitchen, equipment and your workstation. 

· Adherence to all safety protocols including handling and transportation of foods and knife work.

· Train staff and uphold quality standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy products and grains, including proper storage of these items. 

· Learn and retain knowledge on the ability to properly use seasonings for a range of culturally diverse foods. 

· Learn and retain knowledge of common food allergens and their substitutes. 

· Alert Chef or direct supervisor of any food quality issues which might have an adverse effect on Grand View and its culinary operation.

· Train and retain knowledge on cooking methods including poaching, braising, roasting, charbroiling, sautéing, grilling, frying, and baking. 

· Produce from scratch menu quality food in appropriate portion size, cut and quantity. 

· Ensure all food is prepared and presented in accordance with appropriate recipes, presentations and under the direction of the Executive Chef. 

· Safe use of supplies and equipment.

Familiarity with high-end events and wedding plate-up practices is also a plus! That being said, we are willing to train highly motivated candidates looking to add to their culinary experience.

 

This is a part-time position with full time hours available in peak season and part time hours available in the off season.

 

Requirements:

 

· Education plus schooling in culinary arts or related major is preferred but not required. 

· At least 2 years of culinary experience in a lead roll is preferred.

· Serve safe certification required. 

· Must be able to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and some holidays. 

· must be at least 18 years old. Pay will reflect experience and availability.
