Position Summary:
TEC is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Technician with 1–3 years of experience to support asbestos inspections, air monitoring, and abatement oversight projects throughout Michigan. This is a hands-on, field-driven position suited for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working on active job sites.

Responsibilities:
- Perform asbestos inspections and bulk sampling in accordance with state requirements
- Conduct air monitoring for asbestos abatement and other industrial hygiene projects
- Provide on-site asbestos abatement oversight as a Contractor/Supervisor
- Complete daily field documentation, logs, and sample tracking
- Assist with report preparation and data entry
- Calibrate and maintain field equipment
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients in the field
- Follow all TEC safety procedures and applicable OSHA/MIOSHA regulations
- Travel to job sites across Michigan (some early mornings and variable hours expected)
Qualifications:
- 0–2 years of relevant field experience in industrial hygiene or asbestos consulting
- Michigan Asbestos Inspector certification (preferred)
- Michigan Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor certification (preferred)
- Some knowledge of asbestos regulations and air sampling methods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate field documentation
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Preferred (Not Required):
- 40-hour HAZWOPER (current)
- Additional certifications (Lead, Mold, etc.)
- Experience with PCM air sampling and basic report writing.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform field work in active construction and abatement environments
- Ability to wear respirators and PPE as required
- Ability to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs
