Position: Lighting/Bench Technician

Position Reports to Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Job Location: 100% In-Person Chicago, IL 60614 (Multiple Locations)

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $17/hour - $24/hour


The Lighting/ Bench Technician makes repairs to damage or improperly functioning lighting products, both in the shop and at our Lighting Showroom on Chicago Ave. They will be responsible for testing and installing all Pure Edge lighting fixtures as directed by the manager and assist with inventory counts as directed.


Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for testing new products and repairing returned by customers. including, installing in our test area.
  • Keeps product awaiting testing and repair in an organized manner.
  • Completes testing and repair order work sheets documenting time spent and parts used to repair the product (BOM).
  • Notifies Customer Service of completion of repair work, so that the customer can be notified.
  • Immediately advises CEO, of defective inventory product in need of improvement by the manufacturer (by both e-mail and in person).
  • Maintaining a defective products log and what was done to resolve the defect.
  • Installs and maintains fixtures in the office and on the retail showroom floor.
  • Test new fixtures for light output, thermals, install to NEC (national electrical code) standards, and any other test as instructed by the Manager.
  • Keep work area in a clean and organize manner.
  • Helps maintain parts inventory in an orderly and organized fashion as directed by the Inventory Manager.
  • Notifies Inventory Manager of out-of-stock situations.
  • Makes sure all inventory movement is supported by an appropriate inventory document, i.e., repair order, pull ticket, inventory transfer form, shipping instructions, etc.
  • Inspects inventory for wear and defects. Recommends solutions for damaged inventory - whether to have repaired or returned to vendor.
  • Assists with the taking of a physical inventory as directed by the Inventory Manager, including cable, accessories, and bulbs. (Counts must be accurate)
  • Answers technical questions from sales and customer service personnel.
  • Contributes to the team effort by assisting others as needed. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • Technical knowledge of electrical and lighting products
  • Minimum 1 year of relatable experience
  • Full-time hours
  • Saturday availability required

Salary Description
$17.00 - $24.00 an hour
