Chicago Theological Seminary, a seminary affiliated with the United Church of Christ, serves God, Christ’s Church, multiple faith communities, and the larger world by educating persons theologically and cultivating the intellectual, pastoral, and spiritual capacities of lay and ordained religious leaders, scholars, and activists who contribute to the increase of justice and mercy.


Essential Job Responsibilities

· Work with faculty to assist in academic advising for all MA/MDiv/SAL students, including short and long-range schedule planning, oversight of student course sequencing, tracking course of study and fulfillment requirements. 

· Coordinate and administer course registration, including cross-registration and bi-registration.

· Maintain student and alumni/ae records. 

· Administer academic policies in collaboration with faculty. 

· Supervise fulfillment of transcript and verification requests. 

· Maintain and support records portion of student portal for students and faculty. 

· Serve on various committees including Orientation, MDiv-DMin, MA/STM/PhD, Persistence, Retention and Completion, and Academic Council (voice, no vote). 

· Prepare enrollment and retention reports. 

· Maintain 3-year course projections in collaboration with faculty. 

· Maintain Academic Calendar in collaboration with Academic Dean and Academic Council. 

· Coordinate and schedule capstone and/or portfolio examinations for all programs. 

· Maintain the information regarding registration on the website

· Collaborate with the Finance and Financial Aid offices to ensure accurate student billing

· Assist with Graduation and Commencement Planning

· Maintain VA records and coordinate registration submission to VA ONCE

· Assist with the Coordination of the PhD Program

· Assist with the registration and partner of MOU institutions and upkeep of student records

· Supervise part-time and quarter-time employees

· All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications

· Master’s degree in theology/religion

· Three plus years of administrative experience in higher education. 

· Three plus years of experience in academic planning and advisement or similar.

· Experience with MS Office Suite.

· In-depth understanding of Excel

· Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Campus Café and Canvas

· Ability to relate to students and other constituencies with pastoral sensibility. 

· Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks. Ability to work independently within the framework of institutional policies and established protocols.  

· Ability to work well with others in a collaborative and mediatory style. 

· Experience in distance education.


Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in theological education.

· Supervisory experience. 

· Experience with online learning. 

· Familiarity with UCC polity and procedures preferred

Salary Description
$68,000 to $79,000
