Primary Responsibilities
- Provide full-time support to the Rector with canonical matters and related administrative tasks.
- Teach Canon Law courses, including course preparation, instruction, and assessment.
- Provide academic advising and support to students.
- Conduct ongoing canonical research to inform teaching and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervise and oversee student research projects.
- Participate in academic committees and administrative functions.
- Engage actively in the Saint John Vianney Theological Seminary community and mission.

- Assistant Professor – Demonstrates effectiveness in teaching, consistent scholarly engagement, and appropriate participation in ecclesial service.
- Associate Professor – Exhibits excellence in teaching, significant scholarly achievement, and active involvement in ecclesial service beyond the assistant level.
- Full Professor – Maintains a distinguished record of scholarship and publication, serves as a master teacher and mentor, and provides exceptional leadership in ecclesial service.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Be a fully initiated Catholic in communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally loving out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041 – 2043).
- Align with the values and mission of the Catholic Church in an Apostolic Age.
- Doctorate in Canon Law (preferably from a Pontifical Ecclesiastical Faculty)
- Collaborative and mission-aligned, consistent with Catholic teachings
- Maintains strict confidentiality and professional integrity
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Flexible, proactive, and detail-oriented with sound judgment
- Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and a strong work ethic
- Presents a positive image reflective of the Church’s ministry
