Description

SUMMARY: 


The Human Resources Specialist will report to the Human Resources Manager OR Director, in supporting all HR department policies, procedures and programs that support a nonprofit agency that provides addiction recovery services and treatment. SFRC is seeking a highly qualified professional to join the HR team. This position is an integral part of the HR department and will have direct contact with all employees within the organization and have a direct impact on the mission of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES: 


The Human Resources Specialist’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Assist in performing human resources tasks which may include recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration and orientation, record and file maintenance, employee relations, background processing and performance reviews. 
  • Assist and monitor new hire requirements, orientations, handling on-boarding and off-boarding of staff, as well as responding accordingly to employee inquiries. 
  • Benefits administration to include being knowledgeable about all aspects of benefits offered, enrolling new hires, terminating benefits, managing changes and open enrollment processes. 
  • Orienting new hires to all benefits offered and entering information into benefit portal and carrier systems. 
  • Handling heavy filing of HR-related paperwork and serve as primary contact for inquiries related to forms, processes, procedures, etc. 
  • Strategize with HR Manager on streamlining processes and practices within the department to become more efficient and effective at supporting the organization and all employees. 
  • Partnering with other departments within the agency, including payroll for pay and benefit changes. 
  • Enter and maintain all data in HRIS for new hires, terminations and changes. 
  • Regularly maintaining employment records, performing data audits, and reporting on HR analytics as requested. 
  • Provide intake of employee relations issues and/or grievances, as needed, and assist with investigations. 
  • Recruiting efforts to include revising job descriptions, posting jobs, assessing qualified job candidates, conducting calls, setting up interviews and tracking activity from all job sources. 
  • Coordinating interviews with hiring managers and candidates using technology and in-person meetings. 
  • Updating and entering data in excel spreadsheets and other systems and running reports. 
  • Other duties / projects, as needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS: 

• Knowledge and previous experience with company benefits and compliance is preferred 

• Strong organizational skills and work efficiently in a fast- paced environment 

• Attention to detail, working with numbers using mathematical calculations 

• Must be resourceful, self-motivated, employee-focused, and able to work independently 

• Positive attitude with ability to take direction and offer suggestions for the team 

• Proficiency in computer skills including MS Office/365 

• Excellent phone etiquette 

• Excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders 

• Knowledge HRIS systems including ATS platforms preferred 

• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written 

• Knowledge of background checks and drug screening preferred 

• Valid NM Driver’s License and acceptable driving record 

• Able to pass all pre-employment screenings 


EDUCATION: 

• Associate’s degree preferred; Human Resources, Business Management or related field of study 

• Two or more years’ HR experience or related field 

Salary Description
$47,989 - $76,782
