After School Teacher
Description

 We are seeking an energetic, responsible, and creative School-Age Teacher to join our licensed child care team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between school and home, providing a safe, engaging environment for children (typically ages 5–12). A key component of this position involves transporting students to and from local schools using the center’s shuttle bus. 



Requirements

 

1. Transportation & Safety

  • Safe Transit: Safely operate the center’s shuttle bus to transport children between the center and local elementary schools.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip inspections (checking tires, lights, and fluid levels) and maintain a clean vehicle interior.
  • Attendance Tracking: Maintain accurate "point-to-point" rosters to ensure every child is accounted for during loading and unloading.

2. Curriculum & Engagement

  • Program Planning: Implement age-appropriate activities including STEAM projects, outdoor play, and team-building games.
  • Homework Support: Provide a quiet environment and guidance to help students complete their daily school assignments.
  • Supervision: Maintain active supervision of all children, ensuring a safe and positive social environment.

3. Communication & Compliance

  • Parent Partnerships: Provide daily verbal or written feedback to parents regarding their child’s day and well-being.
  • Regulatory Standards: Ensure the classroom and transportation procedures strictly adhere to state licensing regulations.

 

Schedule & Availability

This position offers a unique schedule that shifts based on the academic calendar:

  • During the School Year: Monday-Friday: Full Time: 9:30-6:30 or part time shift 1: 12:30-6:30 or part time shift 2: 2:30-6:30
  • School Breaks & Summer: Transition to Full-Time hours during winter/spring breaks and the summer Revision. (Specific shifts vary between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM).

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age or older (required for insurance purposes to operate the center shuttle).
  • Driving Record: Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (No special license like a CDL is required).
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with school-age children in a licensed child care or camp setting.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive state and federal background check, including fingerprinting.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and remain active for extended periods.
  • Comfortable driving in various weather conditions and during peak traffic hours.
Salary Description
$14-$16/hour
