Preschool Teacher’s Aide

Assumption Catholic School is seeking a caring and dependable part-time PreK Teacher’s Aide with experience in early childhood education to support our preschool classroom. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and helping create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Hours are 7:45am-1:30pm Monday-Friday during the regular school year
• Ability to supervise K-8 students either before school (7:15 - 8:00) or after school (3:30-4:00)  
• Support the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation
• Assist with early childhood learning experiences, including art, storytelling, play, and hands-on activities
• Supervise and engage children during classroom time, recess, meals, and transitions
• Help children develop social, emotional, and early academic skills (numbers, colors, shapes, routines)
• Assist children with basic care needs such as snacks, hygiene, restroom use, and emotional support
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
• Prepare and clean up materials and learning spaces before and after lessons
• Support positive classroom behavior and help children stay focused
• Step in for the lead teacher when needed
• Complete additional duties as assigned

This position pays $20.50 per hour and we'd like to fill it by June 1, 2026.  It is a part-time position and does not have benefits.

 Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• 3 months Experience working with young children in a preschool or early childhood setting (required)
• Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) qualification preferred
• Early Childhood Education (ECE/CD) coursework (Child, Family & Community, Child Growth & Development and curriculum)-preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass multiple required background checks
• Complete 15 hours annually of State of Colorado required training
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Warm, patient, and nurturing attitude

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, sit on the floor, and stay active throughout the day
• Comfortable working in a lively, sometimes noisy classroom environment
