Requirements

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Operations Supervisor oversees and coordinates daily warehouse activities such as receiving freight, managing operations, supervising staff, maintaining TPC relations and ensuring the efficient delivery of packages, and securing the warehouse.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Operations Supervisor is responsible for executing the policies and procedures necessary to manage the physical manipulation of mail/parcels, within, into, and out of assigned Depot.
  • Oversee and direct the delivery operation to ensure that staff and delivery standards are met. 
  • Review previous days delivery on time percentage and address late deliveries and service failures as need with (TPC) Third party contractors. 
  • Work directly with TPC for the contracted territories in the depot.
  • Schedule bi-weekly service reviews with contracted TPC’s. 
  • Manage employees, including route supervisors, warehouse staff and drivers. 
  • Communicate with clients to maintain a high level of service and working relationship. 
  • Communicate daily with Customer Service to resolve daily customer issues and concerns. 
  • Work directly with Depot Manager and HR in the recruitment, hiring, training, counseling, and termination of staff.  
  • Work directly with Depot Manager in reviewing unit cost, KPI’s, hiring needs, route expansion, equipment needs, etc.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, working conditions, and increased efficiencies.
  • communicate company mandated policy and procedure updates and changes to operations coordinators, staff, and drivers; communicate daily with PM Supervisor on all issues before shift transition. 
  • Oversee safety activities to include ensuring compliance with GLS safety policies and Employee Training is conducted.
  • Frequently walk throughout the warehouse to supervise employees.
  • May be required to perform tasks beyond those explicitly listed in this role.

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week or more if required.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs. unassisted

  • May require prolonged periods of sitting and/or driving throughout the workday
  • Willing to travel to various job sites and other locations
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurability required when job duties require use of motor vehicle
  • Requires exercising discretion in decision-making process and maintaining strict confidentiality concerning the vendor, employee and company proprietary related information 
  • Associated Degree, proof of completion of college courses, and/or High School Diploma
  • 2 or more years of experience in related field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to process information in a timely manner
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Salary Description
$55,000- $72,000
