Retail Store Manager
Description

Summary/Objective

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for the successful operation of a retail facility. Manages the daily operations, customer service, financial results, and staffing. Their duties include hiring, training, motivating, and reviewing sales teams, creating business strategies, developing promotional material, and the cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the facility. Additional duties may be assigned.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain store inventory levels 
  • Source additional product to be offered (while working with the Merchandising and Procurement teams) and staying within budget. 
  • Interview candidates, hire and onboard new employees
  • Manage, mentor, and develop sales staff, minimize turnover
  • Create proper schedules, meeting hours of operation, customer service and labor goals
  • Train new employees and provide continuing education for staff.
  • Create unique promotional events that are retail store specific
  • Develop and arrange promotional tools and organize the retail space so that it is clean and eye catching 
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints
  • Prepare and track buying trends, sales, and shrink
  • Create business strategies that will attract new customers. 
  • Analyze and predict sales and sales trends to make informed decisions
  • Protect against loss by monitoring security, training staff, and maintaining security cameras

  • Customer service-oriented with in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer and Tech savvy, use of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. 
  • Basic Admin skill: printing, scanning, etc.
