The Childcare Staff is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for children while their parents or guardians are utilizing the fitness center. This position ensures that children are engaged in appropriate-age activities and are cared for in a safe and structured environment. This is a part-time position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Child Supervision: Provide attentive care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Activity Planning and Execution: Engage children in age-appropriate activities such as crafts, games, reading, and light physical activities that promote development and fun.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring that toys, equipment, and play areas are sanitary and well-maintained.
  • Parent Communication: Keep parents informed about their child’s experience in the childcare area, providing updates on behavior or activities.
  • Compliance with Policies: Follow all fitness center policies and procedures, including those related to child safety, health guidelines, and privacy.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with other childcare staff members and fitness center personnel to create a smooth and efficient operation of the childcare services.


Requirements

  

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Children: Prior experience working with children in a daycare, camp, or similar setting is preferred. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both with children and parents, to ensure a positive environment. 
  • Patience & Empathy: Ability to manage and respond to children’s needs in a calm, patient, and empathetic manner. 
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of child safety practices and emergency procedures. 
  • Organization: Ability to keep children engaged while maintaining an organized and clean environment. 
  • Certification: CPR and AED certification are required within 90 days of employment. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and engage children for long periods. 
  • Ability to lift and carry children, as well as participate in activities requiring mobility. 

Work Schedule

  • Flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and Saturday mornings.
Salary Description
$16 - $20 per hour
